Worst Offenders
The most common problems that occur is trauma to the teeth. A chipped tooth can be something painful depending on the severity, and can require immediate attention. If your tooth is knocked out, you must visit a dentist as soon as possible. How you act in the next few hours could save your smile! If placed back within an hour after losing it, your body may be able to heal and re attach at the root. Make sure you rinse the tooth for any debris before putting it back in, or come see us immediately if you do not feel comfortable doing it yourself.
Other Common Issues
Other issues that may be less pressing is tooth sensitivity or minor bleeding. If you have something stuck in between your gums or teeth, never use a sharp object to remove it as it can damage the surface of your teeth. Try using dental floss to remove the object and if it is still stuck, give us a call and we can work out a solution. If you have trauma to your gums or face and are experiencing extensive bleeding, go to the emergency room and see a doctor immediately.
