X-rays are an integral part of our practice as they enable us to catch dental problems before they are even visible to the naked eye. We have upgraded to 100% digital radiography, because compared to traditional film X-rays, there really is no comparison! Digital X-rays are sharper, only take seconds to develop, and even emit up to 90% LESS radiation, which is great news for parents with small children. We can even show the X-rays to you on a monitor in the treatment room so you can better understand your dental health inside and out.
Our intraoral camera will quickly turn your dental appointments into an educational and interactive experience. A little larger than a pen, this device can capture high-definition images of the teeth and gums we can instantly show you on a screen right next to your chair. Now, your dentist will be able to show you everything they are talking about, ensuring you are always on the same page. They can point out problem areas, discuss different treatments, and help you see exactly what they see to take the mystery out of your dental care.
Dental impressions give us a working model of the teeth we can use to design a number of treatments, and now, our patients no longer have to bite into odd-tasting dental putty to make one. Instead, we simply use a small device to quickly scan the mouth, and on a nearby monitor, patients can watch as a fully-digital impression is generated by powerful software. This method is not only faster and more comfortable than the traditional one, but it’s also more accurate, saving patients from having to get annoying retakes.
Treating the gums, whether it involved removing an infection or providing a cosmetic gum lift, used to require scalpels, sutures, and plenty of discomfort on the patient’s part. Now, however, our soft tissue laser helps our patients enjoy fast and painless treatments that are able to consistently deliver fantastic results. Bacteria and infected tissue can be removed in an instant, and getting rid of a “gummy” smile only takes a few minutes as well. The instrument gives off practically no heat, sound, or vibration, making it easy for patients to remain comfortable from beginning to end.
